Ypeople Pathways

Creating Pathways to Positive change

Ypeople Pathways provides supportive and engaging integrated accommodation to individuals identified as having multiple, complex needs and assists vulnerable residents throughout a difficult period of transition in their lives, helping better their chances of sustaining long term accommodation.

In addition to this, the service operates a Reach Out intiative named HELPD, which identifies people within the community who will benefit from one to one support and guidance and provides a linked, holistic approached to assist their personal development. HELPD (Holistic, Engagement, Linked, Personal Development) ensures that regardless of the situation surrounding a service user’s departure, they will continue to receive support, thus limiting the chances of unplanned disengagement.

Ypeople Pathways work in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council and have recently implemented its new Framework which encompasses a Psychologically Informed Environment approach coupled with integrated Clubhouse Model to delivering its service. Through growing links with the NHS and PIE Link website and an increased emphasis on Multiple Exclusion Homelessness addressing the challenge of mental health and trauma, Pathways are exploring new and dynamic methods of service user engagement and support. By implementing the 5 key areas of psychologically informed practice, Pathways look to continually develop the physical environment, seek tailored staff training, explore psychological approaches to engagement, evolve through staff support sessions incorporating reflection and action and adopt fresh methods of monitoring and evaluation.

By providing a safe environment and facilitating a range of diversionary activities and information workshops, the service has the capacity to key work service users, using a person centred approach whilst providing a range of opportunities contributing towards positive personal change.
