Ypeople employs over 167 staff across their 21 sites. Listed below are some of the key personnel responsible for the day to day running of Ypeople services.


Joe Connolly 
Chief Executive Officer

Joe became Chief Executive of Ypeople in 2007 following an extensive social work and management career in Local Authority and the Voluntary Sector.  Joe has an Msc in Social Work Management, CQSW, Diploma in Social Work and an Advanced Certificate in Social Work with Young Offenders.


Sharon McGowan
Head of Finance and Corporate Resources

Sharon joined Ypeople in 2008 in the role of Financial Accountant, before progressing to the role of Finance Manager in 2010. Prior to her transfer to the charity sector in 2008, Sharon had a number of years’ experience working within a commercial finance environment. Sharon has over 15 years finance experience, has a BA (hons) in Accountancy, and is a Fellowship Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.


Jennifer Allan 
Head of People

Jennifer joined Ypeople in 2008 as the HR Advisor and then progressed to HR Manager and then HR and Training Manager in 2012.  Jennifer has worked in HR for 15 years in the Charitable sector and holds Chartered CIPD membership.  Jennifer has a BA (hons) in Business Information Management, a Post Graduate Diploma and MSc in Human Resource Management and is currently working towards an Advanced Diploma in Employment Law.



Pauline Lunn
Head of Business Development and Improvement

Pauline joined Ypeople as Business Development Manager in 2015 having worked in the voluntary sector for over ten years, beginning as a volunteer supporting young women with learning disabilities in 2003. Since completing her degree in Psychology Pauline has worked for national charities in a number of roles, from frontline service delivery to managing a national self-directed support project, and she has been involved in marketing, business and service development since 2008. She believes that her grounding in delivering person-centred supports to vulnerable people has equipped her with the knowledge and understanding required to develop services that work for individuals, and she is passionate about achieving excellent outcomes for the people her work supports.


Renzo Cardosi
Operations and Business Manager

Renzo joined Ypeople in 2014 as the Operations & Business Manager responsible for our supported accommodation and reach out services in South Lanarkshire. Prior to joining Ypeople Renzo accumulated a decade of experience in the fields of youth development, senior level project coordination and project management in areas categorised as socially deprived such as Bellsmyre (West Dunbartonshire) and the Gorbals, as well as overseas work in Malawi. Renzo has obtained a number of academic qualifications which include a BA Community Development Degree (Distinction), SVQ 4 Social Care and a COSCA recognised Counselling Certificate. SVQ4 in Social Care Leadership and Management.


David Gaughan
Head of Service Delivery

David joined Ypeople in 2002 and has extensive experience of working with homeless individuals, including those with complex needs. Qualified as a registered manager for housing support services, David is responsible for our services in Edinburgh and Orkney.


Joanne Glennie
Operations and Business Manager

Joanne has worked within Ypeople since 2004 in various roles and today she oversees the development and management of our child and youth services including the Calm Project, Ypeer Mentoring Service and our five Out of School Care Services based within the Nitshill, Priesthill, Garnetbank, Kelvindale and Anderston areas of Glasgow. Joanne possesses a BA in Community Development and is currently undertaking an MSc in Young People, Social Inclusion and Change at Glasgow University. Joanne is also an SVQ Assessor for Ypeople.


Janice Kent
Operations and Business Manager

Janice has worked with Ypeople since 2000, following over 20 years working in a variety of roles within public sector housing. Janice manages Housing Support and Housing Access services within East Dunbartonshire, Glasgow and South Lanarkshire, in partnership with providers within both social housing and the private rented sector. Janice has a Diploma in Housing Studies as well as SVQ4 in Health and Social Care and Leadership and Management.

In Action

Ypeople’s services deliver a broad range of programmes and projects which support vulnerable children, young people and families as well as providing accommodation support, support for people whose lives have been affected by homelessness, mentoring and befriending.
